Minister of Finance Jim Flaherty to Address the Halifax Chamber of Commerce

Minister Flaherty will be the guest speaker at a breakfast hosted by the Halifax Chamber of Commerce on Monday, June19, 2006. The Minister will begin his address at approximately 8:45 a.m.

He will speak about the importance of internationally competitive financial capital markets in Canada, and the need for a common securities regulator as part of creating a more competitive and efficient economic union.

The event will take place in the Imperial Ballroom of the Lord Nelson Hotel & Suites, 1515 South Park Street.

The Minister will hold a media availability at approximately 9:30 a.m.
