Shelly Glover, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Finance, today is taking part in a pre-budget roundtable in Montréal with women entrepreneurs. This event is the latest in a series of cross-country consultations aimed at engaging Canadians in discussions about their priorities and ideas as the Harper Government begins preparing the 2013 budget.

“Our Government’s top priority continues to be creating jobs, growth and long-term prosperity, with a return to balanced budgets by the end of this Parliament,” said Parliamentary Secretary Glover. “Over the last few years, we have made government spending more efficient and effective. Now we need to hear more specifics from Canadians about how we can achieve the best use of taxpayers’ dollars.”

The Government invites all Canadians to lend their voice to this discussion through online pre-budget consultations on the Department of Finance website.

Cross-country consultations will continue in the weeks ahead, with venues and details to be announced as they become available.
