Archived - Government Confirms Partnership of Alberta Government in Support for ABCP Plan

The Honourable Jim Flaherty, Minister of Finance, today confirmed the participation of the Alberta government in an agreement to support the Montreal Accord restructuring plan for non-bank sponsored asset-backed commercial paper (ABCP).

Together with the Government of Canada, the governments of Quebec, Ontario and Alberta will provide a senior funding facility to help investors and asset providers to achieve a stable and effective restructuring agreement.
