Forestry Sector

In 2008, EDC provided $14 billion in commercial solutions to the forestry sector. In 2009, EDC is confident that it will do more in this sector based on an anticipated increase in demand. EDC is a key player in providing credit insurance to the forestry sector, and has active relationships with about 80 per cent of the Canadian sector. In the first quarter of 2009, EDC served 530 forestry companies for a total business volume of $2.06 billion.
